Queen Mary – Sir Winston’s Restaurant

The RMS Queen Mary, known as the most haunted ship in the the world, ranges in witness reports of a young girl apparition named “Jackie” in the 1st class swimming pool/shower area to the haunted Cabin B340 that has multiple accounts of paranormal occurrences within its walls.

Paranormal EXP investigated Sir Winston’s restaurant in the afternoon of April 28th, 2012 with a group of various paranormal investigators.

History of Paranormal Activity:

The reports of paranormal activity range from the piano playing by itself, cold spots, sounds of music, the smell of perfume and tobacco, and unexplained conversations and shadow figures around the bathroom area. The most notable unexplained paranormal activity was witnessed by JB, a regular patron at Sir Winston’s. He was at the bar alone while, Luis, the bartender left for a moment.  JB looked into the mirror behind the bar and saw a man in a tuxedo walking toward the bathroom area. JB turned and saw that the man vanished.  He looked for the man and noticed he was the only person in the bar.  JB was a skeptic of ghosts, but now he believes.

Investigation:

The groups separated to investigate different areas of the restaurant.  Paranormal EXP along with Rob Wlodarski of IPRO, started the investigation by setting up in the men’s bathroom; armed with EMF detectors, digital/analog recorders, E-Pods and motion detectors.

Paranormal EXP were unable to capture any EVPs or experience anything paranormal.  However, the motion detector LED lights would indicate movement as Rob asked for someone to come close. That exchange lasted a few minutes.  While interesting, it couldn’t be verified as paranormal.

The next location would be the back entrance to Sir Winston’s.  Marcus of Paranormal EXP was using a piece of equipment called dowsing rods while Clare was using her iPad and an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) app. Typically used for non-verbal individuals, it would be used for an experiment throughout the investigation.  Marcus, new to using dowsing rods, would hold the dowsing rods while Rob asked questions.  They moved, unexplainable with a direct response, they would cross in an “X”  for ‘yes’ and out straight for ‘no’. Trying to determine the name of the alleged entity, Rob started off the alphabet until the dowsing rods crossed in an “X” for the letter E.

After trial and error,  the name he got was “Elise”.  To Marcus of Paranormal EXP, the movements of the dowsing rods was a strange feeling, knowing that he wasn’t controlling them as Clare verified that he wasn’t indeed moving them.  Paranormal EXP were unable to capture anything paranormal on their audio recorders or video cameras.

Paranormal EXP branched off to the women’s bathroom with a digital recorder, iPad and Tri-field EMF detector. After an hour of investigating, they did not capture anything paranormal.

As we concluded the investigation, we followed up with the other investigators whom had captured an EVP seemingly in the voice of a child and whose name was “Elise”.

One Response to “Queen Mary – Sir Winston’s Restaurant”

  1. I lived in Long beach most of my life and have visited the QM since it opened in 1967. I volunteered there setting up rooms displays, cleaning up parts for rooms and furniture to display how the staterooms actually looked for the period in the (this was in the mid 2000′s). I even stay there over night, nothing. I asked many people about hauntings that were employed there from the beginning of the ships docking and so forth.. I never encountered anything paranormal, anywhere and I am supposedly a “sensitive”. I heard one story when I was there but most blossomed when when the QM was literally sinking L.B. in debt. I had heard one story of a a uniformed man walking into the office and stopping to stare at an employee and then leaving and never being seen again. That was it. When Disney had the ship it was pummeled even more into disgrace due to lack of interest because L.B declined them to build a large park in the dockside area. That was a “bone of contention” so to say since some residents actually wanted them to build a park wast of downtown but were not given any rights to any decision. The ship fell into more disrepair and was then very scary until the haunted idea “appeared” and turned itself into a moneymaker. Politics are always scary anyway. The haunted tour isn’t even scary.
